¡á On November 6th, we visited the Naval Academy located in JinHae. The scenery was not quite as nice as the first time we had visited. However, we were allowed to look around more and view a big hunter-killer submarine and a big fleet with the help of Lieutenant Commander Cho's friends. Unfortunately, the hunter-killer submarine was located in a high security area, we weren't allowed to get off the bus and take pictures. After lunch, we looked at a Korean turtle ship. After, we watched "Patch Admas" that Lieutenant Commander had specially prepared for us. Lastly we went to the Naval Academy museum. It was much bigger than we imagined and there were plenty of things to see. Surprisingly, we met the the principal  and other members of the Academy. We sang "Bom Bi" the song we learned in class for the principal and other naval academy members. It was a great time to all of us.

¡á On October 8th, the participants, Mrs.Paik, Sim Eun Joo, who teaches Korean classical Music at IIIHR, and some of the English Town students visited Chok Suk Ru in Jin Ju and we saw a bull fight on the street.  There was also a Gae Chon Art Festival being held.

And there is a story about Non Gae.

The inscription on this monument describes how Non-gae, a local gisaeng(professional female entertainer), threw herself into the river to drown a Japanese commander after 70,000 soldiers, officials and townspeople of Jinju fought to their death to defend their town during the 1593 Japanese invasion, Jinju had been under siege for the second time after that year and fell to the enemy on the 29th day of the Sixth Lunar Month.

When Non-gae¡¯s patriotic death came to be Known through Eo-u yadam(Collection of Historical Tales), officials and townspeople of Jinju erected a stele to her memory. Jeong Sik(1683-1746) composed the inscription. Nam Deok-ha(1688-1742), the military commander of Gyeongsang-do, built the shelter for the stele and hung a tablet on which he wrote ¡°Gate for Righteous gisaeng Non-gae.:

The stele faces Ui-am, rock from where Non-gae Jumped to her death. The inscription sings her praises as follows: ¡° The lone rock soars and with it the lady. Could the lady find the place to meet her death. Were it not for the rock? Could the rock with its righteous name, were it not for the lady? May their scented names be remembered for eons, the lady and the high rock of the Namgang river.

¡á On September 6th, the participants of IIIHR, some staff, the vice president of the school, and his friend, Yan Yun Kun, went up to the climbing mountain. We took a bus around 9 in the morning to Borno Temple. After looking around the temple we climbed to the top of the mountain. It was extremely foggy and we couldn't see the scenery that well. Even though somebody was 5 steps away from us, we couldn't recognize who they were. While we were coming down from the mountain, it suddenly began to pour. Fortunately, in the classroom Director Kim had told us to bring an umbrella, so we were not soaked that much. Yang Yun Kun, who is one of the sponsors, helped us to get over our tiredness by treating us to great traditional food. It was really amazing. To make it better, we drank som Korean alcohol as well. After lunch, we visited Kum Kang temple which was 5 minutes away from the restaurant where we had lunch and bowed to the Buddha and had tea ceremony with some ladies of a tea club. We listened to the history of the tea that we had and what kinds of tea is the best and so forth. We also ate some rice cakes and enjoyed famous Korean bread. At that time, we learned that Korean Tea is the best in the world.
